Setting the record straight on the Ohio call
After many people asked me if I agreed with Karl Rove’s challenge at the time Ohio was called for Obama on Tuesday night, I wanted to make sure my memory was correct. Here’s the transcript:
WALLACE: Now, Joe, we know Karl has a rooting interest. I think, at this point, he’s telling us the facts. But you don’t have a rooting interest for Mitt Romney. What do you think?
JOE TRIPPI: Look, when I had my last contact with the Obama folks, they thought that Florida was their best shot, that Virginia looked the shakiest and that Ohio, they were — they thought they were going to win but less sure of. And so you know — but when you look at these counties, you look at Hamilton County, Obama’s been winning it. There is still a lot out there. So I understand what Karl is saying, but if you look at some of these counties that are still left out there, there are votes, a lot of votes, left for Obama that could outnumber some of these suburban counties.
WALLACE: Could, not has.
TRIPPI: Well, but if the Decision Desk has looked at those and is looking at key precincts in those counties and projecting, that’s what they do. And we haven’t been able to go in and do that yet.
WALLACE: Karl?
What I saw with Karl Rove on election night was a panicked individual who did not want to face his donors and simply ran out of lies to tell his donors regarding a well known fact to everyone else in the world knew, many weeks ago, that Romney had no chance of winning the Presidency.
Looking back, Obama got Ohio!

SUFFOCATION POLICIES
The Job growth is fine but 11 million job seekers cannot find a job.
There is no growth in manufacturing. Misguided tax and spending policies as the Sequesters cuts are just beginning. The good news is in Housing and measures to control inflation by the Fed and the stock market increase.
Many Republicans believe reducing government spending is the key to economic recovery.
The CBO projects Sequester will cost 700,000 jobs. The Republicans have lost the popular vote in five of last six presidential elections. The GOP is represented in Congress by conservative whites meaning a minority constituency. The Koch 50 in the House have been a disaster with their cut government, cut taxes and a continuing effort to destroy anything presented by the President.
The House is a mess divided and out of control by their leadership.
Magnificent site. Plenty of useful info here. I’m sending it to a few friends ans also sharing in delicious. And obviously, thank you for your effort!
